The TLC demonstrator device provides a width of 15 cm, so cleaned and uncleaned areas of the roll may easily be distinguished. The video ist produced by a number of photographs (one per minutes) taken from the back side of the chill roll through the foil.
Before start, the roll was cleaned manually. The roll ist structured, therefore manual cleaning is not able to achieve complete absence of material inside the cavities.
TLC needs about 30 min to clean up the roll, especially the cavities, completely. Afterwards, during ongoing production no conatmination appears in the plasma region.
